James started playing Guitar as a teenager and attended the prestigious Guitar Institute of technology in London during the summer of 97 attaining a gold award and a joy for playing live after his first gig there. Coming back to his home town he started playing at the local theatre and honing his future skills. He then took time off away from the guitar while concentrating on other projects but found himself drawn back to music in his twenties and decided to knuckle down study with some of the finest uk musicians and take his guitar grades where he achieved a distinction. Fast forward and he has now been playing and teaching guitar for years and decided to become a full time professional musician in 2012. He has played pubs and festivals across the southwest and now teaches guitar and plays in The Midnight Tides exclusively. Confident in many styles and techniques James brings enthusiasm and skill to his playing, whether he’s bashing out a rock song or gently picking a balled you know you’ll be in safe hands!
